Abstract

A 40-year-old man with an incidental large secundum atrial septal defect (sASD) with left to right shunt (Qp:Qs 2.7:1) and right ventricular dilatation presented for elective percutaneous closure with a 44mm Gore® Septal Occluder (GSO) device. Single dose cephazolin was given peri-procedurally. Implantation was uncomplicated and the patient was commenced on aspirin and clopidogrel post-operatively.
