Abstract

Embryonic and larval development of the Siberian sturgeon Acipenser baerii was studied at different salinity (0.5–10.5‰). It was noted that the salinity of the medium above 6.5‰ already in embryogenesis leads to malformations and complicates hatching of prelarvae. A marked increase in the sensitivity to salinity in prelarvae is recorded during the period of intensive development of the gill apparatus. The embryonic and larval development of the Siberian sturgeon successfully proceeds in the salinity range of 0.5–2.5‰.
