Abstract

Aortic valve bypass (AVB) is performed by the insertion of a valved-conduit from the left ventricle to the descending thoracic aorta for relief of symptomatic aortic stenosis. This salvage procedure is only reserved for severely symptomatic patients due to aortic stenosis who are anatomically not suitable for either conventional aortic valve replacement or transcatheter aortic valve replacement.
