Abstract

Records of Prionoglarididae are few and poorly understood, as living specimens are rarely collected and fossil taxa are scarce. We describe Palaeosiamoglaris hammanaensis sp. nov., a new prionoglaridid from the Lower Cretaceous Lebanese amber. This new record is confidently the first taxon of the family discovered from this amber deposit and represents hitherto the earliest known Prionoglarididae.
