Abstract

In order to promote the SO_2 reduction efficiency from flue gas, the pilot-scale experiments of a staged sorbent injection process combined with air-staged combustion pattern are conducted in a 3.52MW pulverized-coal downshot furnace. It is found that when calcium-based sorbents are simply injected into the upper furnace at Ca/S=2,a low SO_2 reduction efficiency of 26.5% is obtained. When a portion of sorbents are injected by primary air into the combustion zone and others are injected into the upper furnace, the in-furnace desulfurization efficiency is promoted to 41.2% at Ca/S=2 and 71.2% at Ca/S=3.
