Abstract

Capacitance type electro-void fraction meters were developed for measurement in micro-channel. Ring and wire type electrodes were examined to measure the void fraction. The principle of the measurement is that the electrical capacitance of gas-liquid two-phase flow changes according to the void fraction in the flow-channel. It was clarified that this type of void fraction meter was available for any water quality, including pure water, in real time ranging from 0% to higher than 90%. The void fraction was correlated with the electric al capacitance with a linear function for the ring-electrode and hyperbolic function for the opposite wires-electrode under the atmospheric conditions.
