Abstract

The greatest challenge our world facing today is solid waste management. It became an unsolvable problem for many developing countries. One way of converting the solid waste into valuable energy, by means of organic segmentation of waste without affecting the environment, is known as anaerobic digestion method. Anaerobic digestion is a process in which the organic substance is converted into a mixture of bio gas by the decomposition of microorganism. From that bio gas a valuable alternate renewable energy called as methane is extracted. Today, there are a lot of economic barriers in constructing, maintaining and monitoring the process of the digester. Increase or decrease of the organic substance feed inside the digester may also cause problems in decomposition of microorganisms inside the digester and this may affect the gas production. To solve all these problems a proper e-governance system is needed for maintaining and monitoring the process of bio digester. This paper proposes an approach and a model for online gas monitoring in anaerobic digestion process by using various sensors so that it can improve the efficiency, performance and process of the digester.
