Abstract
Gary Poe examines E. Glenn Hinson's contributions to patristic/early Christian studies, identifying Hinson's perspectives on institution and mission of the early church, the diversity of early Christian spirituality, and the role of women in the early church as his most significant contributions to both academy and church in this specialized field of scholarship. The article concludes with a bibliography of Hinson's patristic scholarship and a listing of doctoral dissertations in patristics supervised by Hinson.
