Abstract

The prevalence of e-cigarette use among youth has risen dramatically over the past several years. Many concerns have been raised by this epidemic, including the increased likelihood that those adolescents who "vape" will also go on to smoke conventional cigarettes and use illicit drugs. Pediatricians are appropriately positioned to discuss vaping with patients and provide further education to families. This article aims to provide clinicians with a better understanding of vaping products and terminology, as well as the prevalence and potential harms of e-cigarette use.
