E-bike sharing system location analysis on city level with AHP method: The case of Istanbul

Abstract

This article presents which districts will be prioritized in the selection of electric bike sharing system locations in Istanbul. A decision support model has been established for the gradual implementation of EBSS, which is intended to be used for transportation purposes in the Istanbul metropolitan area. While setting up the model, land use, public transit, bikeability, and demography data are processed on the map created in the Geographic Information System environment. One of the multi-criteria decision-making methods, The Analytical Hierarchy Process which allows qualitative and quantitative evaluation, is used in the study. In accordance with the evaluations of the experts, the districts of Istanbul were prioritized systematically.
