Abstract
Heavily calcified coronary lesions remain difficult to treat using conventional angioplasty and stenting techniques. Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL) is the latest advancement in interventional coronary techniques to induce vascular calcium fracture with a mechanism distinct from rotational atherectomy. Recent evidence suggests that these two technologies can work in tandem as a novel bail out strategy. The purpose of this case-series analysis is to analyze the safety and efficacy of combinational atherectomy and IVL, known as Rotatripsy.
