Abstract

Purpose We aimed to determine the diagnostic accuracy of 3D time-of-flight magnetic resonance angiography (TOF-MRA) and contrast-enhanced MRA (CE-MRA) compared with digital subtraction angiography (DSA) following coil embolization with the Enterprise stent (ES) for cerebral aneurysm. Material and methods We analyzed 34 patients with 39 aneurysms treated by coiling with ES and followed-up by CE-MRA, TOF-MRA, and digital subtraction angiography (DSA). The score of depictions of aneurysm and parent artery (1, not visible; 2, poor; 3, good; 4, excellent) with TOF-MRA and CE-MRA were compared with DSA. And sensitivity and specificity of depictions of aneurysm and parent artery with TOF-MRA and CE-MRA were calculated. Results The score of CE-MRA (3.632 ± 0.607) was higher than that of TOF-MRA (1.737 ± 0.496; P Conclusion For the follow-up after coiling with ES, evaluation with CE-MRA is necessary, but in case with narrow parent arteries ( ≤2.6 mm) may be difficult.
