Abstract

The History of the Robinson Crusoes of Warsaw as a Research ProblemThe presented text attempts to take a closer look at the little–known problem of the life of the Robinson Crusoes of Warsaw, hiding in the city ruins after the fall of the Warsaw Uprising. In this case, fundamental sources include personal accounts both by persons seeking refuge and those who met them as well as German documents. The article considers ways of depicting their life, the experience of hiding, and the manner in which the hideaways remembered those traumatic experiences and shared them.
