Abstract

This article contributes to the research on the press publishing of the Alliance of Democrats during World War II and the occupation, comprising 12 policy documents and brochures, as well as 23 press titles. The author focused on the policy documents of the two main streams in the Alliance of Democrats: “Prostokąt”, the Alliance of Polish Democracy, and its Youth Section: the Young Democracy Movement, as well as main themes in the press published by these entities in the period 1940-1945. The research indicates that the pursuit of the information and persuasion functions allowed for full articulation of the publishers’ views regarding current and future issues that were considered particularly important from the point of view of the party’s policy.
