Abstract

Human physical performance peaks before 25 years of age. Demographic trends in western countries indicate an increasing maternal age at first childbirth. We have examined the relationship between age and indices of uterine efficiency in nulliparous women in spontaneous labor at term to assess whether labor performance is affected by age.
