Abstract
In a recent report, Vervaet et al. argue that chronic interstitial nephritis in agricultural communities (CINAC)/chronic kidney disease of unknown cause (CKDu) is a toxin-induced nephropathy with “dysmorphic” lysosomes in proximal tubular cells, and they present diagnostic criteria for this lysosomal phenotype.1
