Abstract

Mood disorders are associated with the occurrence of ventricular arrhythmia. There is a solid body of evidence linking the autonomic nervous system to life-threatening arrhythmia and death from cardiovascular causes. Increase in sympathetic activity and reduction of baroreflex sensitivity have been shown to be predictive of the occurrence of ventricular fibrillation.
