Abstract

The dynamics simulation of deployment of a solar panel on an oblique spacecraft is presented. For the case of the solar panel installed on the oblique spacecraft, the dynamics model of the spacecraft is established using the software ADAMS. Based on the dynamics model, the dynamics simulations of deployment for the solar panel on the special oblique spacecraft are presented. The simulation results are compared with a common spacecraft on which the solar panel is installed normally. The comparison of the results indicates that the special oblique spacecraft causes obvious changes in the attitude motion of the spacecraft and the yaw angle of spacecraft changes greatly only in the special oblique spacecraft system. However, the changes in roll and pitch are slight. The difference of the attitude motion between two kinds of spacecrafts is significant. The simulation results can predict the attitude motion of the oblique spacecraft and deployment dynamics of solar panel preferably and it is useful for control system design and ground text of the special oblique spacecrafts.
