Abstract

Tribal markets occupy an important place in the tribal socio-economic system. The present paper is based on a study on the dynamics of tribal market in the Jharkhand region of Bihar. This is basically an anthropological study of tribal market as a social phenomenon. It points out that the tribal weekly markets, in spite of the changes which have occured, continues not only as a centre of redistribution of economic resources but also as a centre of social and political activities. It is also acting as a centre for exploitation of tribals.
