Abstract
The linear stability analysis of the stationary states of the delay-differential equation of the passive optical ring resonator is performed. “Proper” Hopf bifurcations which lead to the invalidity of the adiabatic approximation are found. Moreover, the dynamics near the Hopf bifurcation is numerically investigated. In this parameter range, the precipitation process destroys the desired optical hysteresis, which makes the system applicable as a logical device.
