Abstract

The article analyzes a number of aspects of the dynamics of the attitude of the Central Asian states towards Russia in the public discourse of the region from the 2010s to the present. Media materials from Central Asian countries, public speeches of government officials and opinion leaders were analyzed. The main objective of the study in examining public discourse was to understand the attitude of the current forces of certain countries towards the object - Russia, and to identify the general trends in the dynamics of this attitude. In addition to studying modern publications, for the sake of completeness of the study, the author draws attention to the historical background of modern events in the interpretation of political actors. It is concluded that different interpretations of historical facts are the basis of ideological preferences and political decisions. In modern conditions, these parameters are the most important in shaping the perception of a neighboring country, and their analysis is of considerable importance in the context of studying modern processes in the post-Soviet space.
