Abstract

1. Dimensionless criteria and numbers have been derived, the numerical values of which determine the mass transfer processes during the percolation leaching of a packing of coarse ore particles. The rate of chemical dissolution and the mechanism of transfer of the mineral into a soluble form have been considered. 2. As an example, the leaching of a copper sulfide ore with sulfuric acid has been studied, and the relation between the efficiency of utilization of the reagent, the initial reagent concentration and the rate of percolation has been established.
