Abstract

Dynamic light-scattering measurements on fractal aggregates of colloidal silica show that the mean decay rate (Rayleigh linewidth) of the intensity autocorrelation function scales like ${q}^{2.7}$, where $q$ is the momentum transfer. This result is compared to the ${q}^{3}$ prediction for percolation clusters and the more complex results derived here for cluster-cluster aggregation.
