Abstract

Analysis of spin orientation by optical pumping in pure GaAs and InP shows that, although photoluminescence is dominated by excitonic lines, many features of the spin memory are due to the conduction electrons. We are thus able to study the formation process of excitonic complexes and to perform the optical detection of conduction electron spin resonance.
