Abstract

The kinetics of photoluminescence (PL) and time-resolved emission spectra (TRES) of melanin solutions with an effective electron acceptor 2,4,7-trinitrofluorenone (TNF) have been studied. Based on the analysis of the kinetic decay curves and TRES, the fast and slow PL decay components can be distinguished, which characterize the processes of a relaxation of excited states and charge transfer in the melanin-TNF molecular system. In this paper, the observed dependences have been analyzed and the model to explain such behavior of PL dynamic characteristics has been proposed.
