Abstract

Optical studies resulting in the determination of distances to a number of distant (up to 8 kpc from the Sun) HII regions in the outer Galaxy were made by Moffat et al. (1979). The present paper reports on a radio study, by means of the J = 1 → 0 transition of interstellar CO, of molecular clouds surrounding these HII regions, in order to compare sites of star formation between the outer Galaxy and the more heavily studied portions of our Galaxy near the Sun and interior to the Sun.
