Abstract

In this work, we present the simulation results of a passively Q-switched Nd: YVO4/Cr:YAG laser model with pump modulation for applications in laser stabilization control contemplating different harmonic regimes. We study in detail the complex dynamics by varying the values of two control parameters: pump power and external frequency. By using bifurcation diagrams, state diagrams, and basins of attraction we demonstrated the coexistence of multiple attractors (multistability) and the phase locking dependent regimes of the control parameters. Our results can be used to improve the control of stability (minimizing the deviation of amplitudes in the pulses and the repetition rate) of a real Q-switched laser.
