Abstract

A Mobile Ad-Hoc Network (MANET) consists of a set of wireless mobile nodes communicating with each other without any centralized control or fixed network infrastructure. In this paper, we focus on characterizing the End-to-End delay and maximum achievable throughput in MANETs. In fact, this paper presents a new on-demand routing algorithm DITMD (Dynamically Improve Throughput and Minimize End-to-End Delay), which is improve throughput and minimize End-to-End delay. This algorithm implement based on AODV (Ad-Hoc On-demand Distance Vector) routing protocol. We presents a novel idea of using delay in Hello Messages to estimate the overall route delay and thereby using the shortest delay route in on-demand routing protocols. In addition, in DITMD network overhead will be decrease with the avoidance of producing extra control message and transmitting unnecessary messages. As a result, channel capacity is not consume in vain and network bandwidth will be use efficiently. The paper introduced this protocol and its simulation using Glomosim, which is a simulator for MANET, and also presented a simulation-based evaluation, the result confirmed the effectiveness of our design.
