Abstract

The dynamical theory of coherent excitation of X-ray cascade by synchrotron radiation is developed. Fine structure of the angular distribution for the last quantum in the cascade (versus the incidence angle of SR beam) is investigated. It is shown that the corresponding angular distribution differs essentially from the case of Mössbauer cascade and from the conventional case of X-ray diffraction. The perspectives of an experimental observation of the mentioned angular distributions are discussed. The calculation results related to the two-transition X-ray cascade (with tungsten as a possible candidate for the experiment) for thick samples are presented.
