Abstract

There are many important problems in physics where dynamical systems of hyperbolic type with singularities have arisen. Moreover, a Poincare map for a smooth (and even analytic) flow often possesses singularities. One should also mention that the representation of a flow as a special flow (see Chap. 1, Sect. 4) and the passage to the corresponding induced (Poincare) map is one of the most effective tools to study ergodic properties of dynamical systems with continuous time.
