Abstract

The Jackiw-Johnson model of dynamical gauge symmetry breaking has been re-examined in the light of the gauge technique. In the limit where the ratio of the axial to vector coupling constants becomes small, or, consistently, in the limit where the ratio of the axial-vector-boson mass to the fermion mass becomes small, an approximate solution for the fermion spectral function has been derived. This gives an extremely small ratio of the axial-vector-boson mass to the fermion mass.
