Abstract
This paper deals with the dynamical modelling of a biological detoxication process in a fixed bed reactor. Two key features of the model are (i) the introduction of two regions in the liquid phase (a mobile liquid phase, and an immobile liquid phase around the particulate carriers), and (ii) the incorporation of the adsorption phenomenon in the model dynamics.
