Abstract

The electroweak symmetry may be broken dynamically by a mechanism similar to the one of the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio Model. We show that scale-invariant supersymmetric sigma models can provide the required four-fermi interactions and solve the associated hierarchy problem. A model based on E 8/SO(10)×SU(3) is discussed in detail; the SU(3) family group is broken together with the GUT group SO(10) and a hierarchy of quark and lepton masses follows automatically due to an extended Higgs sector and radiative corrections.
