Abstract

A unified theoretical scheme is presented to study the classical and quantum many-body problem in liquids using a response function formalism. With particular attention paid to the intermediate-wavenumber region, dynamical correlations and collective or elementary excitations in simple liquids ranging from classical liquids and classical one-component plasmas to Fermi and Bose liquids, are studied comprehensively from the viewpoint of the memory function method.
