Abstract

Transient two-wave coupling gain as a function of delay time between pump beam and probe beam in undoped GaAs has been measured. In addition to the photorefractive effect, induced absorption and the gain due to the transient free-carrier grating are also observed, and have been discussed respectively. By processing our experimental data, we find that the photorefractive gain saturate at 54%, when the pump fluence increase to 2.27 mJ/cm 2, in the case of our experiment.
