Abstract
Numerical studies of a two-dimensional active medium with long-range inhibition and additional global inhibition far from equilibrium, show a bifurcation sequence from stationary spots to elliptically oscillating spots, followed by a transition to traveling spots. General properties of the spot dynamics and their dependence on the applied boundary conditions, as well as on the global inhibition are discussed.
