Abstract

An approach for the generation of macro basis functions considering the directivity of the sources and the ray-tracing characteristics of the scenario is described in this letter. The number of basis functions generated is highly optimized by dynamically generating the threshold to be applied for the retrieval of the macro basis functions after the application of the singular value decomposition of the currents induced by the plane wave spectrum surrounding each block. Significant performance gains are shown due to the reduction of the number of unknowns compared to the conventional generation of macro basis functions.
