Abstract

Loading point displacement and spring mass model were introduced into the calculation of the dynamic stress intensity factor for a fatigue pre-cracked 2A12T4 aluminium alloy compact tension specimen. A simple formula of dynamic stress intensity factor for a fatigue pre-cracked compact tension specimen is derived using the vibration analysis method. By determining equivalent mass and equivalent stiffness of 2A12T4 aluminium alloy compact tension specimen, the dynamic stress intensity factor expression has been given. Three examples of simple dynamic loading were calculated, the results were in good agreement with their finite element model values.
