Abstract
Dynamic thermoelastic stresses induced by a sharp change in temperature of a thin plate with a semi-infinite crack, whose tip is moving at a constant velocity since an initial time, are considered. At the crack tip, non-stationary heat sources are brought about by thermomechanic conversion, and as a result, a sharp time-dependent change in temperature occurs on the crack edges. The main result is evaluated as an expression for the SIF.
