Abstract

Dynamic spectrum management (DSM) aims to optimally allocate per-user transmit spectra so that the effect of multiuser interference (crosstalk) is minimized and the capabilities of the network are maximized. Work on DSM has progressed considerably over the past decade. Most of this work, however, deals with the idealized situation of perfect synchronization amongst the multiple users. This work deals with a more realistic albeit more difficult situation, i.e we consider the DSM problem with asynchronous crosstalk. We propose a novel solution for this problem, one that is mainly based on the approximate summability of the crosstalk damage ratio (CDR). Performance of the algorithm is assessed through numerical experiments and is shown to be better than the performance of state-of-the-art methods.
