Abstract

Marine geotechnical engineers have extensively studied the phenomenon of wave-seabed interactions in the last two decades. Most previous investigations have focused on the quasi-static soil behavior under linear wave loading. However, the dynamic soil behavior to nonlinear water waves and uniform current should be considered under certain conditions. This paper proposes a new analytical approximation for wave(current)-induced dynamic soil response. The problem of nonlinear wave propagating over a constant depth seabed with uniform current is investigated. Numerical results show the significant effects of currents and non-linear waves on the seabed response.
