Abstract

In this paper a new modern control method for power flow control with unified power flow controller (UPFC) is presented. Dynamic sliding mod control (DSMC) is applied for this method. Dynamic sliding mode control is a modern nonlinear control method that adds extra dynamics to system equation for more Stability. Dynamic model of UPFC obtained from modern control concepts. at first we implement sliding mode control (SMC) on UPFC series controller and based on this implementation we design and implement DSMC on series converter.in this method we considered active and reactive power as control inputs. Since UPFC is an unstable system, chattering effect may cause to instability of system. For solving this problem we use dynamic sliding mode controls and this method is very effective in decreasing chattering effect that cause to instability of system and damping oscillation also improved. By using dynamic sliding mode control concept and choosing new state variables, we design a high performance powerful controller for controlling power flow. For the validation of the presented new controller, we simulate system equation for both DSMC and SMC controller in Matlab and the obtained results in DSMC controller were compared with results obtained from the SMC controller.
