Abstract

Based on the theory of transmission and reflection of stress wave, several multi-layered structures with foam-concrete in civil engineering were proposed to decrease the strength of stress wave and hence, to raise the protective performance of underground structures. The propagation of stress wave in the multi-layered structures was simulated and the dynamic response and damage development of the structures were studied by commercial dynamic finite element software LS-DYNA. The results showed that multi-layered structures can reduce the strength of impacting loading and the range of spalling damage of the structures effectively.
