Abstract

In this work, the dynamic responses of an uncertain flexible shaft-disk-drum rotor under elastic support and connection are investigated, where uncertain parameters are considered as unknown but bounded interval variables. The energy method is used to derive deterministic analytical model for the flexible shaft-disk-drum rotor, which is validated by modal tests. A non-intrusive interval method based on Chebyshev polynomial approximation is introduced to evaluate the uncertain dynamic response of the flexible shaft-disk-drum rotor system. Comparative studies of Monte Carlo simulation, scanning method and the interval method are conducted to illustrate the validity and accuracy of the approach proposed here.
