Abstract

Wireless ATM (asynchronous transfer mode) networks have already become important due to the progress of ATM technique and wireless communications. This paper focuses on the characteristics of wireless ATM networks based on the multi-carrier code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) technique. This paper proposes an improved cell-scheduling algorithm (ICSA) and a dynamic resource allocation scheme (DRAS) with a resource compensation method to improve performance. The performance measurements, such as handoff call dropping probability and new call blocking probability, are obtained by an analytical model and simulation experiments and compared for the different schemes. The proposed algorithms perform better than the other algorithms according to the obtained results.
