Abstract

The dynamic properties of paramagnets are investigated within a continued fraction representation of the relaxation shape function. The approach seeks to isolate the dominant frequency dependence and requires an estimation of the temperature dependence of static spin correlation functions. A three-pole approximation is shown on the basis of comparison with computer calculation and neutron scattering measurements on RbMnF3 to provide a good description of the dynamic properties of one and three dimensional paramagnets over a wide range of wavevectors and temperature.
