Abstract

This work focused on reducing the Dynamic Power Consumption in BTS and Cellular Networks in Mgbakwu, Anambra State Nigeria using a Multi-Attribute Decision Making Technique that can represent the probabilistic nature of Cellular Network and Traffic generation that is cost effective and also gives better performance in reduction of the frequent measurement of BTS. The weighted sum of the normalized Attributes is called the Utility function which the Technique chooses. Measurements conducted in the two BTS of interest confirmed that Mgbakwu BTS is situated in a Rural/Residential environment and has two Peak (Busy) Hour periods for morning 9.55Erlangs from 7.30am to 8.30am and in the evening, 10.68Erlangs from 8.30pm to 9.30pm.
