Abstract

An investigation was made of the polarization behaviour of the Cr(V) complex with 1,2-cyclohexanediol. Dynamic proton polarization and spin-lattice relaxation times were measured at magnetic fields of 8.5 kG and temperatures 4.2 K and 1.4 K. High enhancement factors were obtained, which may in some cases surpass the enhancement factors attained in 1,2-ethanediol. On the basis of the experimental proton relaxation rates an estimate is made as regards the applicability of this diol as a material for frozen spin polarized proton target.
