Abstract

System stability plays a critical role in electric power systems. With the development of power system, the scale of the electric grids are now increasing widening, and many renewable energy resources are integrated in the grid. Therefore, at the same time, the stability and safety issues of electric power system are more concerned. Frequency and phasor are two important parameters in stability of power system. During fault conditions in transmission lines and generator terminals, frequency deviates from its nominal value and the exponentially decaying dc component appears in current and voltage signals. These phenomenon affect the estimated parameters of the phasor. This paper studies the Weight Least Squared (WLS) algorithm based on utilizing Taylor for frequency tracking and phasor estimation. In order to test the performance of this algorithm, signals are generated and predict in MATLAB software.
