Abstract

This paper aims at the modeling and control strategy for an integrated renewable energy system (RES). A decentralized power generation in the form of integrated system is proposed comprising of a photovoltaic (PV) system and a wind energy system (WES) to supply required electric loads. The PV system is sculpted with a DC/DC converter for regulating DC output voltage; a maximum power point tracking system (MPPT) is amalgamated in order to achieve a reliable power output. The WES is modeled with a variable speed wind turbine, permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) and DC/DC converter. Both the sources are integrated and connected to a common DC bus and PI controller would be used to track the maximum power in photovoltaic and wind energy system. The method to be simulated using Matlab/Simulink.
